Located in the heart of Gisborne, the Portside Hotel is within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. The hotel offers free WiFi and a fitness centre. Its rooms are equipped with kitchenettes and include a flat-screen TV. Free toiletries and room service are also included.
The hotel has a great location, and the rooms were comfortable. Our room resembled a small apartment with a kitchenette and separate living area, plus a king bed. However, the HVAC system was difficult to figure out, with several ceiling-mounted units and only one remote control. It was confusing to operate and was not intuitive to use.

It features avenues of cherry trees, a spiral garden ceremonial area and a century-old woolshed. There is also a quaint track through native bush that leads to a beautiful rocky river. The river has several swimming holes and rockslides, making it a perfect playground for the adventurous and nature lovers.
Manutuke Eco Retreat
Manutuke is a settlement in the Gisborne District in New Zealand’s North Island. It is located west of the city of Gisborne on State Highway 2 near the mouth of the Waipaoa River. A number of visitors visit the region each year to experience New Zealand’s natural beauty.
